Pastors Letter

In 1865, Methodists first began meeting together in South Ashland to worship and study the Bible. For the next twenty-seven years they met in homes, schools, and in other churches because they didn’t have a church building of their own. Then in 1892, after much prayer and personal sacrifice, the members of what would later become South Ashland United Method Church, collected $1000 and built their first church home.

In the ensuing years, the members of this church purchased land, built and remodeled sanctuaries, parking lots, educational buildings, family life centers, and parsonages. They didn’t do it just for themselves; they did it for those who would come after them. They were good stewards of what God had given them-that is why we enjoy what we have today.

This is a strategic time. We have a window of opportunity to do something that will make a significant difference in the lives of people. Over the next several weeks you will hear how God is at work in the lives of our church family and community. Join us for worship, to hear and see what God is doing. Begin to pray what God will have you do was we each consider making a sacrifice that will help us, for “in faith we grow.”
